Badger Park Estates - South Richland
An Oasis Neighborhood at Badger Park Estates, on Keene Road in South Richland, Washington
Here’s a neighborhood so well located that it lends itself to strollers - stroll to the park, the area’s only waterpark, the dog park, stroll to the store - Starbucks is just down the street, so is Albertsons and a number of eateries and Walgreens. Kids follow a pathway to their school, Badger Mountain Elementary.
Here’s a lovely small collection of homes tucked between parks and walking trails alongside Keene Road in South Richland. The rich tapestry of housing ranges from Oasis Custom Homes family-style residences with 3-5 car garages and loads of room for growing households, to Oasis Extended Family homes that offer an in-law suite on the main floor for elderly parents or for boomerang kids, to Garden Court Homes that cater to move-down buyers with no steps, to the newly-introduced ULTRA Modern Homes.
One of the neighborhood’s early buyers coined the idea of “a place for those who like to stroll.” They realized that for just the fun of it or for more utilitarian reasons, a short walk from their new home could supplant a car ride.
Located adjacent to Keene Road- but access is through the residential community next door, at Elementary Avenue- Badger Park Estates homeowner access the Keene Road walking (and cycling) path from their own neighborhood. Then, travel to the right and visit the baseball diamonds at Badger Park, watch the kids of all ages frolicking in the water park (in season), stop at the dog park and stay awhile if you’ve got a pooch. Or amble to the left along this paved, year-round route with shopping bag (if you’re green inspired) towards Albertsons, or Walgreens or other local stores. A number of eateries, both fast food and casual dining, are also located this direction. And you know you’re discovered when on your path to shopping they have a Starbucks. That explains the number of locals trudging along their way with one of those white cups with mermaid imprinted in green on the side.
But most importantly, you’ll find some friendly people. Somehow- it probably helps that we work to bring people together and introduce neighbors to one another at events- the homeowners are getting to know one another and making new friends. And as they see each other, they smile and wave.
