Varsity’s Home Office to Move
Wed, Jun 15, 2011
The whole thought of a “home office” has a different meaning at Varsity Development: its home office is located in an actual home. For the past three years that office has been located in Pasco’s Welcome Home Center on Laredo Drive in Oasis at the Park, the actual name being Casa del Sol.
But on July 22 that office moved to the new Welcome Home Center located in an expanded Callas model home at the firm’s newest Oasis neighborhood, Collins Ridge. “The only problem with all this,” quipped real estate agent and co-neighborhood manager George Garton, “is that by the time we get the main office settled-in, we’ll be sold out of housing in this neighborhood.”
On the other hand, as some might point out, selling out a housing neighborhood sooner than one expected is probably a problem any home builder would like to contend with. The firm’s phone numbers and fax numbers and email addresses all remained the same as before the move. The move has thus far been reasonably seamless, according to Varsity’s Controller, Larry Lee.
The physical address for the new office will be 611 Pikes Peak Drive, West Richland, WA 99353. The rationale for retaining the home office in one of the Welcome Home centers, he explained, was Leslie Savitch’s desire to stay close to the sales process and watch and overhear the comments and reactions of buyers to the model home environment. Lee pointed out that there would be no planned wild office warming party…but he didn’t rule out a more mild-mannered one.
